The Education Gap Behind National Averages

Country, year and gender-disaggregated education indicators.

Wednesday, October 28, 2026Platform-neutralHealth · Development · Business Intelligence

Your analytical mission

What do national schooling trends obscure about gender disparities?

This is a storytelling challenge, not a test of how many visuals you can create. Investigate the central question, choose evidence that answers it, and explain why the findings matter.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Choose exactly one comparable indicator for female and male populations.
  2. Select five countries with overlapping observation years.
  3. Compare gender differences in the latest common year and observe time trends where supported.
  4. Identify where missing data or measurement definitions limit comparisons.

Scope and data preparation

Use a curated long-format extract with 2 sex groups, 5 countries and a manageable set of years.

Expected deliverables

  1. A grouped-bar or slope chart and an optional trend visual.
  2. A concise education equity assessment with a caveat.
  3. Exact indicator name, source, and unit of measurement.

Label charts clearly and cite the dataset and extraction date. Tell us which tool you used.

Quality guardrail

Gross and net enrolment ratios are different measures: never mix them.

Required story structure

Question → Evidence → Interpretation → Action. Include a concise evidence-led title and a limitation where relevant.
